The Farm is situated on the outskirts of Newcastle in a rural location. The home is located on one level with easy access points. The Farm cares for up to 3 children and young people with Learning Disabilities and Learning Disabilities.





About The Farm
The Farm is a 3-bedded home for children and young people with learning disabilities. The home is located in the beautiful semi-rural village of Westerhope in Newcastle upon Tyne. The location of the home in a farming community surrounded by farms and a golf course. The rural location enables the home to offer a therapeutic environment for young people on the autism spectrum.
The home is furnished with plenty of soft furnishings and every room is furnished and personalised for every child in order to offer a person-centred, child-friendly, safe and welcoming environment. The Farm has an internal sensory room for children to relax and explore as well as ample outside play areas within large grounds.
All children and young people in placement have available to them a team of therapists depending on the young people’s assessed needs. The team of therapists include a clinical psychologist, an occupational health therapist and a speech and language therapist. Upon admission into the home, every child receives an initial psychological screening within the first month of placement to ensure that the care package, including therapeutic support, offered is as bespoke as possible. Each member of the therapeutic team visits the home at least once a week to meet with the children and staff of the home.
